Choosing a direction and going for it.

directionFinding Direction.

My last 10 days have been pretty exciting. I’ve been planning, re-planning, acting on the plans, revamping plans, and listening to inspirational audios to keep me centered.

1. Meditation. I have started (re-started?) meditating again. Every solo chance I get, I listen to a guided meditation on a topic that I am wanting to embrace at that time. Sometimes it’s gratitude, sometimes it’s morning mindfulness, and other times it might be abundance or body scan, just to remind my body that it’s ok to relax. I notice that my days are different when I can start with that, and that weekends tend to throw me off balance. My schedule changes, I am no longer alone in the mornings, and I tend to spend more time online and in stores, and I find that the influence of media and other people changes my mindset. When I can center my thoughts and choose a mantra for the day, I tend to go back to it for at least half the day. When I start the day and allow media and other things to creep in, I notice my self-talk and balance within the universe waivers. I found that very interesting, as I become more self-aware this time around. Do you notice a difference in yourself? Maybe that’s partly why Mondays are so difficult.

2. Direct Sales. I used to have my own DS businesses with three or four different companies, and focused on one in particular. Within a 9 month period, I aimed for the top tier, and was awarded into that tier. I received top discounts, and could have continued competing for free trips, cars, etc., but by the time I got there, I was no longer motivated. I had made it to where I wanted to be, I had shown I could recruit more than anyone on my team, I could out-sell, out-advertise, etc., and in less than a year while working my full-time job. I had customers across 4 cities, and it was fun… until it wasn’t.

I realized that the fun was the challenge, but deep down, I wanted to mentor. I knew I could reach this stage, but I wanted someone(s), a team to work with me, to challenge each other, etc. I could not find that person who wanted to grow their business, and do it independently like I did. I didn’t want to have to provide all of their supplies, because they didn’t want to. I didn’t want to have to show up because something else more interesting came their way. I had more passion, more dedication, and I had no way of sharing it.

Until now.

I am in the process of creating a 90 Day/90 Way planner to increase business, and make more money. So I have decided to offer daily tips for free in the meantime, and gauge the success of people, answer questions, etc., before I launch my new planner. So, introducing the link above for Grow your Business (name subject to change), where you can join on fb, and get daily tips and tricks.

I have had a lot of success in these direct sales businesses, and received recognition regionally, and nationally. What would you do to have the same? Is this a goal of yours?

3. Goals! This is exciting for me as well. I have decided that I am going to start focusing on what my 2018 goals will look like, and make a plan. What do you want 2018 to look like? It’s only a couple of months away, and I do not want to be planning it on New Years’ Eve – I plan to have a PLAN, a GOAL, and best of all, SUCCESS.

Abundance, Wealth & Prosperity

xennialbloggerAll the things!

In the last post, I was commenting on The Secret. Since then, I finished listening to the audio version, and watched the movie. I am working on making my thoughts positive (the universe does not recognize negating words, like don’t) and I feel like I am achieving some result. I have tried to make it a priority to stop and compile a gratitude list, and then challenge myself to add a few more. I try to do this when I recognize I am feeling particularly grumpy or down. Sometimes it’s a superior at work who pushes my buttons, and sometimes I get carried away with ill-fitting thoughts. I try to recenter myself with gratitude and thankfulness, and review the three key words I am working on: Abundance, Wealth and Prosperity

Speaking of wealth, there’s a podcast that I have been listening to, and it’s great. Two ladies, Cait and Carrie, have a program called Budgets and Cents. I love it. At first, it confused me. The podcast description is about changing your money so you can change your life. I expected discussions about personal finance, saving money, dealing with investments or side hustles, and instead, you receive a personal view of the life of these two women, who go through the aches and pains of starting businesses through blogging, freelance and self-employment, and how they changed their mindset on money.

I would love to hear if you think that the Law of Attraction works, and what it’s done for you. I’d also like to learn more about what you turn on when you need inspiration or entertainment.

Send me your comments and questions below. 🙂

Until next time…

UPDATE APRIL 26, 2018: Budget and Cents is now Honest Money Conversations! A few small changes, but it’s still our Cait & Carrie, talking about all things money.

Abundance

ABUNDANCE WITH BADASSERY

Last week I started listening to Jen Sincero’s YOU ARE A BADASS AT MAKING MONEY while I was driving to my day job. I starting thinking more and more about the Law of Attraction. I thought her book was encouraging, and was like a little crew of cheerleaders in my ear every morning. Who loves money? I love money. Money loves me. and all that good stuff. (Give it a shot before pooh-poohing it.)

If nothing else, her book made me think. I thought about how I saw the universe and its layers of life when I was a teenager (a theory that was thought up myself – that in itself was creepy, as there was no influence from others that lead me to think that way) and how I used to escape from the world by sitting in the dark and “meditating”… back then, I was speaking to the “universe” and all things out there, asking for the things I wanted. And even though I didn’t receive a car, or a winning lottery ticket, I do remember having amazing luck, and getting a lot of what I desired. I thought I worked hard, had a horseshoe up my arse, and that was the way the world was. Years go by, and I land on my feet time and time again, restarting my life, and never looking back for a handout. I thought, again, that it had more to do with luck than anything else.

And then I read this book.

I haven’t done the exercises yet – I will, and I will talk about this later. But I realized that all of what had happened over the first three decades of my life, or at least the last twenty years, was much of the law of attraction, not luck or being in the right place at the right time. Once upon a time, I was much more in-tune with the universe, and I had no idea what that meant, or how to do it. Now, you see it everywhere, and I am less in-tune than ever.

One day I will go into more detail about the decade I lost to a psychopath ex-roomie, but in the meantime, I want to focus on reconnecting with the world, taking time to establish the specifics of what I want, or like people now seem to say, establishing what I already have and will receive.

I want to know – did you read this book? Did you like it? Agree with it? What were your thoughts?

I am on reading #2 of the book, and this time, I will be taking note of the exercises and the mantras that she says will help me reconnect with life.

In the last week, one could say that I have “attracted” a free bag of licorice (thanks, Dawn), a box of chocolates from a grateful client, enough donations for my CIBC Run for the Cure  entry (please donate or sponsor me if you can – every dollar helps), a free play lottery ticket, oranges gifted to me, and more. While it’s not specifically money, I am grateful for the universe gifting me things that save me money and for supporting others through me. I am working hard at redirecting more my way, so that I can share with others, and I want to know what works for you.
